Our Chapter

Make-A-Wish^® Missouri & Kansas proudly manages and safeguards the generous contributions of individual donors, corporations and other organizations. Our fundraising efforts, fiscal practices, and business operations all are designed to support a single purpose: to grant wishes that change lives.  

Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas finances endeavors through corporate sponsorships, special events, foundation grants and individual contributions. However, we do not solicit funds by telephone and receive no federal or state funding. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, all contributions are deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our financial statements are audited locally by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. 

At Make-A-Wish, we take our responsibility for the funds donated very seriously and are pleased to confirm that according to the fiscal year 2021 audit results, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri & Kansas spent 59%* of every dollar on wish granting and related program expenses. Only 25% was spent on fundraising and 16% was allocated to management and general costs. Due to COVID-19 and widespread health and safety restrictions in place since March 2020, wish granting operations have been impacted with travel wishes and wishes involving large groups largely postponed. With wide availability of vaccinations, we anticipate granting more wishes in fiscal year 2022.}

Internships 

Make-A-Wish® Missouri & Kansas offers a variety of unpaid internships to provide opportunities for students and recent graduates, to receive academic credit and/or valuable work experience in the nonprofit field. Students must be a junior or senior to apply. Internships are located in the St. Louis, MO office headquarters.
