At Make-A-Wish, we take our responsibility for the monies donated to our cause very seriously and always strive to ensure that 70-75% of every dollar donated is spent on wish granting and related program expenses. Due to COVID-19 and restrictions surrounding travel and wish granting in general, our program expenses were lower than normal. The safety of our wish children is always a top priority and as a result our program expense for FY21 was 52%. The wishes of many children were postponed until the chapter felt it was safe to resume as normal. With that being said, the chapter was able to store away funds so that as the world is opening back up, children do not have an extended wait time and can receive their wish right away. As a result of our financial planning efforts, we are pleased to confirm that our program expense is already back up to 73% and growing. For full financial details, please review our most recent FY21 Audited Financial Statements and FY21 990.
